Partnerships Make Everything Better

A quote from Henry Ford says “Coming Together is the beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”

Since 1983, ADRA has been serving the Philippines in a variety of ways, but it has never worked alone.

As the global humanitarian arm of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, partnering with the church is one of the things that makes ADRA’s impact immediate and effective. We are proud of that the close to 1 million members spread over 7,107 islands in the Philippines allows us to respond across   the country through the church-based volunteers from the Adventist Community Services (ACS). This partnership was highlighted during our Typhoon Odette Response, where we were able to reach 16,755 severely affected families with food, cash, hygiene kits, and shelter assistance.

This church partnership is also a key element in our Stronger Together Plus project in Mindanao, the Japan Platform Shelter Assistance Project in Negros Occidental, and the Operation Christmas Child gift boxes that we distribute each year.

ADRA has also partnered with several development agencies, government executive departments, educational and research institutions to develop and deliver development programs to communities throughout the country. We view collaboration as a cost-effective and time-saving means for implementing projects, sharing lessons, and combining technical experience and expertise for maximum project impact.

ADRA’s relationship with the Agriculture, Health, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Social Welfare and Development departments of the Local Government Unit, has allowed our projects to be relevant and sustainable to our target communities. You can see this during the TOGETHER PROJECT Launch where the stakeholders invited to attend and commit were from the LGUs, academe, and regional government agencies.

Our partnership with other humanitarian organizations like Oxfam, World Vision, Humanity and Inclusion, and local community based-organizations like the MVC Employees Cooperative and Kasama Multi-purpose Cooperative, has enabled us to implement the EMPOWER Project in Benguet and Kalinga, ECHO and PROTECT Projects in Camarines Sur, and RISE Project in Visayas and Mindanao.

But one very important partner that we never forget are the individual donors and supporters like you. We join the international ADRA community in calling you our Angels. ADRA’s Angels.

We praise God for you, and pray that others also choose to become ADRA Angels and be a pillar in this cause of “serving humanity so all may live as God intended.”
