It takes a village to promote disaster preparedness and climate change adaptation. Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) is one of the cornerstones of ADRA’s programs aimed at making communities better prepared and resilient towards natural and man-made disasters.
Many communities used to see no connection between disaster preparedness and the future of their own livelihood. As they claim, “typhoons come and go but the sea remains”. With ADRA’s DRR and Climate Change Adaptation programs, these notions are now being changed through our various initiatives. Hundreds of families now realize that with better preparation and risk mitigation efforts before the calamities, it will be easier to bounce back to normal life after disasters strike!
